This is a site for people working in regular corporate jobs. It is meant to give us ( I am a white-collar worker as well ) the basics of personal finance.
My sense is that there is a very large number of us who never got a proper education on the basics of personal finance – planning and budgeting. Some of us who went to B-schools are worse off, we have a firm belief that we are very smart and therefore don’t listen to anyone who isn’t (in our eyes) equally or better qualified or a billionaire.
I have interacted with so many people who don’t have the basics in place, my idea is to reach out to as many people as I can and provide the tools for self-education.
Yes, this is about helping to learn ( I am also learning still) , this is not about providing ready made solutions. If you need ready-made solutions I am sure there are plenty of people willing to part you and your money for it.
My recommendation is to self-educate. You are smart enough to have a good qualification , hold a good job , then you are smart enough to learn about this stuff.
Frankly, I don’t think many of us give personal finance the level of importance it deserves in our lives.
So, onward to a learning journey.

Why this blog ?
There are several blogs on the web, many of them really good too. I have a page with a list of my reference blogs and sites. By no means do I claim to be as good as some of the top ones out there.
My pitch is that I will provide an honest voice, will share whatever I know and to the best of my ability. I will also write grammatically correct English (yeah, some of those poorly written blogs do get my goat).
Why the name:
Well, as all things finance I am running a little late. So, by the time it came to choosing a good name many of the more obvious ones were all gone. So a little bit of creative (which is the full extent of my ability) thinking got me to stacking beans. That is what we all want to do, stack our beans into as high a pile as we can.
